Misha is a Pakistani-American
She makes podcasts at KPCC, the NPR station in Los Angeles. She is best known for creating Beginner, a podcast about learning to belong as an immigrant in America. Beginner has been featured on the homepage of Apple Podcasts, as one of Spotify's "Buzzworthy Podcasts," on NPR, in WIRED, and The Guardian. It has also reached the top 50 society & culture and the top 200 shows on Apple Podcasts.
Misha's byline as a writer has appeared in McSweeney’s, on NPR, and in the Wall Street Journal. She’s currently working on ‘The Big One,’ a KPCC podcast about the big earthquake that’s predicted for Los Angeles. When she's not making shows, she consults and guest lectures at USC Annenberg.
Misha got her Masters in Journalism at the Medill School at Northwestern University. There, she was a White House Correspondents' Association scholar.
While she has worked in DC, New York, and Chicago, she calls Los Angeles home.
